Charity Donations

Car Boot sale at Saddington

Since 2003 Zenyogkido has been actively working with charities such as Just A Drop (who provide clean water in deprived areas all across the world) The Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Pablos, a Horse sanctuary based near Melton Mowbray.

The money is collected through various activities such as THE KROX BASH, an all day bag hitting session, where teams of three train like maniacs, or by direct donations collected from our Tai Chi and meditation groups. The lessons are free but we ask, if people can afford it, to make a small donation each class.

Some of our members have undertaken endurance events such as a 24 hour Fan dance climb. The `Fan Dance` is a part of special forces selection training. During selection the candidates have to cover the 15 mile mountain course with 45 lbs back packs in under 4 hours. The 24 hour event our members took part in was to do the fan dance route as many times as they could in 24 hours. Some of the guys did it 3 times!

Another method of collecting money some of the ladies from our Tai chi and meditation groups use, is to run holistic therapy days from their own homes, They offer various holistic therapies at reduced rates, and sell lots of wonderful cakes and drinks as well as books.

One member quite simply takes out a collection tub once a year around his business centre and his residents kindly make donations.

Zenyogkido members have also ran car boot events, long distance bike rides, half marathons and many other functions to raise cash. To date we have raised over £40,000  for the above mentioned charities.
